Introduction
Since the early 1960s, China scholars have been visiting the Universities Service
Centre for China Studies to conduct research and writing. Its rich collection and
liberal platform for intellectual exchange make the Centre a stimulating research
environment (USC Home and
USC online catalog) for scholars around the world.
The Universities Service Centre for China Studies of the Chinese University of Hong
Kong and CUHK-Chiang Ching-kuo Foundation
Asia-Pacific Centre for Chinese Studies are the co-organizers of the annual Graduate
Seminar on China (GSOC). The Fifth Annual GSOC will take place from January 7 to
10, 2009 (four days) at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. The Centre also welcomes
participants to stay at the Centre before and/or after the Seminar to conduct research.
Objectives
The GSOC promotes research on contemporary China; Encourages exchange among Chinese
and young overseas scholars in the field; And enhances the capability and broaden
the horizon of Ph.D. students in contemporary China studies.
